Pujya Gurudev Chinmayananda Jayanti

Chinmaya Mission New York

Dear CM New York family,
Pranaam and Hari Om!

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy Pujya Gurudev Chinmayananda Jayanti. As an auspicious time such as this dawns upon us, we must look at its inner significance.

Firstly, when we reflect in the lives of Great Mahatmas such as Pujya Gurudev, we see a common trend of kindness, compassion, determination and integrity. When the day of our Pujya Gurudev's birth comes around we must pause and analyze the year since last Jayanti. Have we adopted the traits mentioned above that bring about goodness and success in the our lives and the lives of those around us? Have we tried to live the qualities of Pujya Gurudev such as giving more than what we take and respecting and loving all citizens of the world?

If the answers to above questions are yes, then we have made the highest tribute to the Master. If not, we have to work harder to make sure we inculcate these strong values that Pujya Gurudev stood by.

It is my Prayer that Lord Shiva's and the entire Guru Parampara's blessings be with all of us as we walk the path of God Realization together united.

Jai Guru Dev!

With Prem and Om!
Br. Arun Gossai

Sri P.G. Ananthnarayan, who is fondly known as Uncle Mani in the Chinmaya Mission, met Pujya Gurudev in the late 1950s and continued his association with him till the end. He was trained by Pujya Gurudev and was associated with the Vedanta Course in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya from the first batch to the seventh. He was posted to different centres in India as well as other countries. After Gurudev's mahasamadhi, he returned to India and today, at the age of 91, he continues to conduct study classes.
