Hari Om! Online Registration for 2015-16 Long Island / Queens Bala Vihar  is now open. Please read the guidelines and use this link to register your child / children.

Bhagwad Geeta Chapter 15 Chanting Competition

Chinmaya  Bala Vihar at Long Island will hold Geeta Chanting Competition on Sept. 27th, 2015. All CMNY  Bala Vihar children are welcome to participate.

This year is special in many ways. Swami Chinmayananda's birth centenary movement started from May 8, 2015 and it will continue for a year. As a tribute to our Pujya Gurudev, every Chinmaya Center is  celebrating Geeta Chanting Yajna in a grand scale. Our Gurudev believed that everyone should chant Chapter 15 at least twice every day! We could not have wished for a better chapter than Chapter 15, Purushottama Yoga, for this auspicious year. May everyone succeed in their pursuit to learn Bhagavad Geeta!

Call for Articles for Diwali Brochure

The time for our Diwali Gala on Nov 22^nd 2015 is fast approaching. To make this year's CMNY brochure a memorable one, we do need your help!

All CMNY Study Groups and Bala Vihars are requested to submit an article. Only one article per Study Group or Bala Vihar will be included in the brochure.

Please include this information on top:

a.     Author/s name/s
b.     Name and Location of CMNY Study Group / Bala Vihar
c.     Teacher's / Coordinator's name


Submission Guidelines:

1) Article must be no longer than (1) one letter size page, single-spaced with maximum 500 words.
2) Article must be about Vedantic concepts that you have studied as part of your class.
3) Content must focus on the knowledge and how it has helped you evolve spiritually while not make it too personal.
4) Bala Vihars can include information about their class  activities. They are encouraged to reach out and ask children to write poems, subject matter or their experience at Bala Vihar.

Please submit to  submissions@chinmayanewyork.org no later than Oct 1st, 2015.

Please also submit a high resolution 1500 x 2100 pixels group photo of your group in 5" x 7" size.

Hari Om! Greetings from London!
While establishing Chinmaya International Foundation, Pujya Gurudev had given certain aims and objectives for it. One of them was having a Sanskrit University. A team of our devoted members have been working at it since some time. The progress is significant in as much as the Government of India is very willing to give approval to establish such a University on fulfillment of certain conditions.

One of them is creating a corpus fund of Rs. 25 crores ie, approximately US$ 4.3 million, as approved investments, and the interest from that will have to be applied in operations of the university.
I know that this Project is very huge but most valuable as well. I would like to let you know that our Mission members who have got to know about this project are enthusiastic and have come forward whole-heartedly to give their support. Let us all fulfill Pujya Gurudev's wish.

Chinmaya Mission UK is pleased to announce the live streaming of Pujya Guruji's yagna in London titled 'Timeless Questions, Eternal Answers', key verses from Sri Rama Gita from the Ramacharitamanasa by Goswami Tulsidas. 

The talks will be broadcast over 5 evening sessions from August 5 to 9 2015. The details are provided below:
